About Deb
I earned my master’s degree in OT from Rush University in Chicago, and I am a registered/licensed occupational therapist.
I began HOOT in 2014, and it grew quickly because the service model worked: I work with children in the home, focus on parent education, and I create effective home programs.
I bring experience from a variety of pediatric settings, with a focus on handwriting, fine/visual motor skill development, and overall strength. I am a strong advocate for parental involvement in the child’s sessions in order to create consistent and successful home programs. My goal is to deliver highly effective intervention to children between the grades of preschool and 5th grade with developmental delays, in collaboration with their caregivers, in order to guide and support the family in reaching their fullest potential.
As the name HOOT implies, I strongly believe in the power of hands-on learning. Using a multisensory approach, your child will learn best when they have opportunities to see, touch, hear and move.
I am committed to helping your child become more confident and successful. Working together in the comfort of your own home, I will bring my enthusiasm and experience to make your child’s learning fun AND effective. I am excited to have the opportunity to serve you and your family.
